Feel like no matter what you do, your eyes still make you look tired and dull? We’ve got solutions! The eye area is naturally sensitive, and let’s face it, hard to figure out. This is because the skin around the eyes is the thinnest on the body so both exercising your eyes, and applying products should be done properly to avoid adverse results. The truth is, some of your habits could be hindering you from the big, bright eyes you’re capable of having. But if you’re tired of looking tired, and want to regain your confidence — this blog has you covered!Your happiness, your sadness, when you haven’t had enough sleep when you haven’t had enough water, etc. all show up in the eyes. They show up in the form of dark circles, puffy eyes, red eyes, tired and dull-looking eyes making you look and feel older than you are. In order to correct and create lasting results, you first have to understand why you’re experiencing these symptoms in the first place, and then use Face Exercises to counter it!In our busy modern-day lifestyle, we accumulate toxins on a day-to-day basis. In addition, stress, lack of sleep, poor diet, and screen time all show up under the eyes in the form of dark circles. While sleeping them away might be ideal, it simply isn’t always possible.Tapping is the next best thing and is KEY to saying goodbye to dark circles, eye bags, and tired-looking eyes! Here’s How:

  • In as little as 30 seconds to a minute of gently tapping, you can stimulate blood flow to the area and reduce swelling.
  • When tapping around your eye area, use gentle tapping motions with your index and middle fingers and tap in circles around your eyes.
  • You can do it anytime, anywhere, and can even do it as a midday pick me up while you have your makeup on!

In addition to tapping, be mindful of your salt intake. Too much salt in your diet will retain water, and this water causes puffiness in the face and body. While tapping will also help drain excess fluid, reducing your salt intake, and minimizing processed foods, will result in a win-win.

No More Droopy Eyelids:

We often don’t associate our forehead with our eye area. But the truth is, there is a big connection between the forehead muscles and the eyes! And many times, we use our forehead, instead of our eyelids, to open our eyes which can create droopy eyelids. To test this subconscious habit, open your eyes as wide as possible and take a look at your forehead area. If you are wrinkling or frowning, you’re probably not using the eyelids, but rather the forehead muscles, to open your eyes. If you keep doing this, your wrinkles and/or frowning will get deeper, longer, and become permanent. Since you’re not using your eye area muscles, the space between your eyes and eyebrows gets larger, and that can create droopy eyelids. With Face Yoga, you can target both! The Eye Opening Binocular Pose will relax your forehead while exercising your eye muscles, resulting in wide, open eyes!

1. Hold V-shape fingers between your eyebrows firmly and try to frown but do not let it happen (resist with your fingers). This way you learn how to stop frowning and using those muscles to a side wrinkles. 2. Slide pointy fingers from eye brows to the hairline to smooth the forehead area and hold it while performing the eye flex exercise.  3. Make a big O with your mouth to smooth nasolabial folds. Repeat 3 sets 10 times each.

Flex (contract/squint) only the lower eyelids to eliminate. reduce/prevent eye bags, hollows and dark circles under the eyes. This exercise wake up sleeping muscles under the eyes and promote lymphatic drainage to get rid of puffiness. Repeat 20-40 times twice a day. Try to keep forehead relaxed. If you wrinkle the forehead - tap it with fingers to relax.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Curl your hands into “C” shapes.
  2. Place your index fingers above each eyebrow, along with the upper eye bones.
  3. Position each thumb on either side of your nose, just above the nostril.
  4. Press the fingers of each hand down and then sideways, making sure not to wrinkle your forehead.
  5. Open your chest. Pull down your shoulder blades.
  6. Gaze at a point in the distance and tighten your focus by squinting for 5 seconds.
  7. Close your eyes and relax for 3 seconds.
  8. Open your eyes as wide as possible, hold for 5 seconds while pressing your index fingers firmly into your eyebrows, making sure neither your eyebrows nor forehead move.
